SELF CARE RESOURCES:

Iced Tea with a twist:

Take a peppermint (herbal, no caffeine) tea bag and place it in a half gallon jar of fresh, filtered water.  Refrigerate overnight.  In the morning, you’ll have lightly flavored herbal mint iced tea to sip throughout the day.

Light Lemonade:

Start out with 8 to 12 ounces of fresh, filtered water.  Add 8 – 12 drops of liquid stevia (all natural, non-caloric sweetener available at health food stores) and about 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.  Experiment to your taste.  This is a wonderful treat with no calories, no artificial sweeteners and no caffeine.

Get more mileage out of your mocha:

When you stop off to get your morning coffee, give this a try.  Before you leave home, pack a large plastic beverage container (about 32 ounces) filled with ice cubes.  Order a hot (I know it’s summer; stay with me) 16 ounce half – caff soy mocha to go.  Pour the hot mocha over the ice you brought from home, and you’ve doubled your investment!  You’ll have twice as many cold, caffeinated ounces to sip through the morning.

Boutique on a Budget:

Locate a massage or beauty school in your area and find out what services they offer.  The students need to learn, and the price is usually very reasonable for massages, facials, manicures, pedicures or haircuts.

Sleep Support:

If you’re having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, browse through some audio relaxation  resources at http://www.soundstrue.com.  You can listen first to get an idea of what you’d be buying before you invest.

Dance to the Music:

Think of three or four songs that you really love; the ones that get your feet moving and fingers snapping every time you hear them.  Then drop by iTunes and purchase them at 99 cents each.  Even if you don’t own and iPod, you can download and play the songs on your computer and raise your energy level any time you want.
